5. THE SALVATION OF MAN (Scriptural Basis)
"and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem."
"Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
"for, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.' How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'”
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—"
"For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people."
"he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life."
The Evidence of Salvation
The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit.
"The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children."
The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness.
"and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."
"It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,"
