About us

Family Worship Center is a friendly community of Christians living in and around Sturgeon Bay and Algoma, Wisconsin.  Let us tell you a little history of how Family Worship Center became who it is today.

In 1929 a group of people in Door County became filled with the Holy Spirit and began regular church meetings between Sister Bay and Baileys Harbor. In 1946 that group joined with the church plant of the First Assemblies of God Church on Pennsylvania Street in Sturgeon Bay.

The Assemblies of God Church has been apart of Door County ever since.  On June 7, 1965 the first of our current 6 buildings on Michigan Street was completed.  We grew so much that just 11 years later, in 1976, a new sanctuary had to be built. Since then we've added on and on.

In 1983 Pastor Mark Schwarzbauer became the new Lead Pastor of the our church and he is still our leader today.  His experience and leadership fostered building 13 Christian radio stations.  The largest of these WPFF/KLOVE still carries the positive encouraging heart of Pastor Mark through contemporary Christian music.

Our Motto is Building God's Family By Showing God's Love.

Our Purpose is to bring people into life-changing fellowship, responsible membership, Christlike maturity and effective ministry.
